When a second look is worth it
Many people come after one or more rounds of treatment that never fully fit. A diagnosis was made in a short visit. Medications helped a little but not enough. Two providers gave two different answers. Or a long-term medication is about to be started and you want to be sure.
The review is for adults who want clarity before deciding what to do next. It does not require you to change providers.
History first, conclusions second
The visit starts from your story rather than from the previous label. It covers your symptoms across your life, past diagnoses, every medication tried and how each one went, medical and sleep factors, substance use, and what your daily functioning actually looks like.
Prior records are reviewed when available, validated measures are used where they help, and you receive a clearly explained formulation. On request, that formulation is written up so you can share it with your current team.
Telehealth statewide, in person by request
Visits are held by secure video wherever you live in California, including Southern California, the Bay Area and the Central Valley. An in-person visit in Corona is available by request. The first appointment is 60 minutes.
Booking runs through Headway, which checks your insurance when you schedule. Accepted plans include Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Carelon and Anthem Blue Cross, and self-pay is available. Coverage varies, so please verify your benefits.
A medical and psychiatric lens together
Dr. Casilang is dual board-certified as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner, holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice, and practices independently in California as a 104 NP. Training in both psychiatry and primary care matters in second opinions, because medical contributors such as thyroid, sleep, pain and medication effects are easy to miss. Not adversarial, not a guarantee
A second opinion is not a contest with your current provider, and it does not promise a different answer. Sometimes the honest finding is that the original diagnosis and plan were sound. That is useful too.
