Adult ADHD Care in Honolulu
Focused, attentive ADHD care for adults in Honolulu and across Oʻahu — by secure video, or in person in Honolulu.
ADHD support for the Honolulu community
For many adults in Honolulu, the hardest part of getting help for attention difficulties is finding a provider with the time to do it well. The MindCounsel offers an unhurried, diagnostic-first approach: a careful evaluation first, then a plan built around your goals and reviewed with you at each step.
Adults may be seen for adult ADHD evaluation, psychiatric medication management, anxiety, depression and other mood symptoms, diagnostic clarification, and psychiatric second opinions.
Care is available by secure video to anyone on Oʻahu — from Honolulu to Kailua, Kapolei, Pearl City, Aiea, Kaneohe, Waipahu, Ewa Beach, and Mililani — with in-person visits available in Honolulu when appropriate.
Evaluation, then a clear plan
An ADHD assessment looks beyond the symptom list to the full history and any conditions that can mimic or accompany ADHD. If treatment is appropriate, options are discussed together. Learn more about the process on our ADHD evaluation page, and about ongoing care on our medication management page.
An evaluation is a careful clinical assessment — not a guarantee of any particular outcome. It does not guarantee that a stimulant, or any specific medication, will be prescribed. Any treatment recommendation is individualized, made together with you, and based on a thorough understanding of your history and goals. When controlled medications are considered, they are managed responsibly and in line with professional and state guidelines.
Private, discreet care
Mental health care is personal, and many people prefer to keep it confidential. Telepsychiatry lets you meet from a private space of your choosing, without a waiting room and without traveling across the island. Your information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws, and visits take place over a secure, encrypted platform.
Using your insurance
The MindCounsel works with several Hawaiʻi health plans, including HMSA and AlohaCare. Because coverage, copays, and behavioral-health benefits vary from plan to plan, we encourage you to verify your specific benefits directly with your insurer before your first visit. Ask about coverage for outpatient psychiatry and telehealth, and about any copay, deductible, or referral requirements. Self-pay options are also available. Participation with a plan is not a guarantee of coverage for any individual service.
