Psychiatric Care for UnitedHealthcare, Oxford & Oscar Members
Telehealth psychiatry for adults covered by UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, or Oscar in California or Hawaiʻi — all three route behavioral health through Optum, and all three are booked through Headway.
UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, and Oscar all run through Optum Behavioral Health
These are three separate insurance brands, but they share the same behavioral health administrator. UnitedHealthcare, Oxford (a UnitedHealthcare company primarily seen on plans issued in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut but occasionally carried by relocated members), and Oscar all route psychiatric claims, provider directories, and prior authorization through Optum Behavioral Health. In practice this means your medical card may say one of these three names while your psychiatric claims are processed under Optum.
What's not yet included: Medicare Advantage
UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage credentialing is currently in progress and is not yet active in either state. If your card says UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage or UnitedHealthcare Dual Complete, that plan is not yet accepted — contact the practice to check current status, or ask about self-pay in the meantime.
What UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, and Oscar members can be seen for
Care includes adult ADHD evaluation, psychiatric medication management, anxiety and depression treatment, diagnostic clarification, and second opinions. The approach is the same regardless of plan or state: a careful evaluation first, then a clear, collaborative plan.
Confirming your benefits
Because behavioral health for all three brands is administered by Optum, the general UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, or Oscar directory is not always the most accurate place to check psychiatric coverage. The behavioral health number on the back of your card routes directly to the team that can answer, and booking through Headway verifies your specific plan automatically.
Private, discreet care
Visits take place over a secure, encrypted platform from a private space of your choosing, with optional in-person visits in Corona, California or Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Your information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
